Pushkin Ball

Tallinn saw the 4th Russian Ball!

November, 27th – the date when historical Russian Ball in Tallinn, the one and only, took place in the atmosphere of the XIXthcentury. It was the fourth ball in total and was devoted to the 210th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin!

The mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar was greeting the participants of the “Pushkin Ball”.

To the great surprise of the organizers more than a half of Ball’s guests were wearing the costumes in style of the XIXthcentury.

The distinctive feature of all Russian Historical Balls in Tallinn is the involvement of active young people. The previous years it’s been the dancing groups, this year – the team of Tallinn senior high school students – learning dances, reading poems. Young artists were drawing the guests’ portraits a la the previous century.

The King and the Queen were traditionally selected among the guests of the Ball. Wehada littlemorecompetitionsthisyear. SuchcompaniesasImperatorskijFarfor” (ImperialPorcelain) andcosmeticcompanyPulanna were giving away their prices.
