Merchants´ Ball

The third traditional Russian Ball in Tallinn – Merchants´ Ball
November, 30th, 2008, the ancient House of the Black-headed Brotherhood

Russian games, dancing, singing, ballet, military brass band, fashion show, learning how to dance ancient dances, gipsy dancing, a plentiful entertainment – all of these was the charitable Russian Merchant ball.


The master of ball ceremony was the well known director of mass shows and holidays, professor of the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts Igor Sklyar.


An orchestra of national instruments “Golden mountains” conducted by Igor Ermakov opened the ball.

Young designer Natalia Mironova, the head of studio “Exclusive”, has altered thirty Pavlovo Posad Shawls into original models of clothing. They were demonstrated by participants of dancing ensemble Lootos.


After a round dance with shawles ballet dancer Valeria Ivleva has performed a Russian dance to the music of Tchaikovsky.


After that the orchestra of the Forces of defense conducted by Peeter Saan has solemnly entered the dancing hall. The military orchestra, playing marches, polonaises and waltzes, became the real pearl of Merchant ball.

King and queen of ball have also been chosen. Vyacheslav Semerikov, Tallinn artist, became the King and a guest from St.Petersburg, the teacher of Peter college at the Hermitage, Natalia Orlova was the Queen of ball.

According to the director of “Russkij Dom” Marina Tee, the obtained means will be given away for the charitable purposes.
